Sub : Telangana impasse –Some suggestions for arriving at a widely acceptable solution-- Regarding. The people of Telangana region certainly deserve a state and also deserve Hyderabad as their capital as it always belonged to them. But the interests of those people from other regions who chose and made it their home should also be taken care of. Union territory of Hyderabad is the only solution to safeguard their interests. Apart from Telangana there are three other regions namely north coastal Andhra, coastal Andhra and Greater Rayalaseema (including Prakasam &Nellore districts) who are all demanding either capital in their region or a separate state for themselves without bothering about the feasibility, justifiability, economic sustainability etc., though they all have their petty historical, political, geographical and socio-economic compulsions of their own in demanding so. As an impartial social worker I submit the following suggestions for your kind perusal and consideration before arriving at a final conclusion on Telangana purely in public interest. 1) Hyderabad city should be declared as union territory and the capitals of both Telangana &Andhra should be located at Hyderabad for the time being. 2 ) A reasonably acceptable package should be given to Andhra to build their own capital between Vijayawada& Eluru. 3 ) Hyderabad should remain as union territory even after Andhra builds and shifts it’s capital to Vijayawada & Eluru. 4) Bhadrachalam division in Khammam district which was never under the rule of Nizam should be given back to Andhra as it would solve the problem of Polavaram barrage on Godavari. 5) Nagarjunasagar & Srisailam reservoirs should be brought under the management of an inter state board and all irrigation projects started by YSR should be completed with liberal central assistance. 6) People of Greater Rayalaseema should be compensated by relocating the proposed PCPIR between sriharikota & Krishnapatnam seaport in Nellore district instead of in East Godavari district. Because both capital and PCPIR should not go to the same region. This is the only way of satisfying the people of Greater Rayalaseema to give up their demand for capital in their region or else a separate state of GreaterRayalaseema. 7) There should be a package to develop the Golden triangle of Tada-Krishnapatnam port—Tirupati into a major industrial hub on the lines of Hyderabad & Visakhapatnam which are in Telangana and north coastal Andhra regions respectively. YSR’s dream of establishing Greater Tirupati urban development Authority comprising all areas between Puttur, Srikalahasthi, Chandragiri and Karakambadi should be expedited and given clearance at the earliest a roadmap for which has already been drawn by the ministry of MA&UD, Govt. of A.P., 8) Long pending Railway lines dating back to the British rule in A.P. like Nadikudi-Srikalahasthi- Gummidipundi should be cleared at the earliest.
