In the movie, Tessa's character, named Detroit, is also fashion forward, sporting an amazing hairdo of colors and curls.Antoinette Yoka, who headed the hair department for the film, told Refinery29 the 'do' was totally decided through discussions between Tessa, Boots' and herself.Tessa 'would come up with an idea and we’d share some photos and Pinterest boards until we could narrow it down. She really liked something along the lines of unicorn colors.'Yoka said the Detroit character 'is very unique in the script, like her mannerisms, her dialogue, and the difference between her and Lakeith's character.'The film is slated to hit theaters July 6.
