» About : Film buffs might recognise rising star Julian Dennison from his roles in Paper Planes (2015) and Hunt For The Wilderpeople, which hit screens back in 2016.But after being handpicked by Ryan Reynolds to star in upcoming comic book flick Deadpool 2, the 15-year-old is set to take Hollywood by storm.Although the teenager wants to make it clear that he'll stay loyal to his native New Zealand.  Speaking to host Sonia Kruger during Saturday's showing of TODAY Extra, Julian also made a thinly-veiled jibe at fellow Kiwi actor Russell Crowe. 'Australia, you can't steal me!' he said. 'I was going to say we might steal you,' Sonia replied. 'We did it with Keith Urban, Russell Crowe...''Yeah,' Julian said, before quipping: 'You can keep Russell Crowe actually. But no, you're not stealing me, mate.'The cheeky youngster, who actually plays a character called Russell (aka Firefist) in Deadpool 2, went on to divulge what 41-year-old Ryan Reynolds is really like behind-the-scenes.'He was a really caring guy and made sure I was OK,' Julian explained.'When his mother would come on set... he was really caring about her as well,' the thespian added. The film, which focuses on the wise-cracking superhero, is the sequel to the hugely successful Deadpool, which remains the highest grossing R-rated film ever. Ryan previously told MTV that he discovered Julian after watching Hunt For The Wilderpeople - and that he's pals with the film's producer Taika Waititi. The A-lister said: 'Obviously I saw Taika's film and I was like: "Who is this kid and what voodoo did you put on him to make him this good?"'And Taika said: "He just is that good." He was the only one we ever considered for the role.'
